Our Christmas Registry is a small, private family website where friends and family can see wish lists for Selena, Matt and Tristan and claim gifts so nothing gets bought twice. This page explains, in plain English, what information it keeps and why.
What we collect
- If you sign in with Google: your name and email address, as provided by Google. We don't get your password or access to anything else in your Google account.
- If you continue as a guest: the name you type in, and a random code stored in your browser so you can undo your own claims later on the same device.
- Gifts you claim: which item you claimed and when.
How it's used
- To show other visitors that an item has been claimed, so it isn't bought twice. Other visitors only see "Claimed", never who claimed it.
- To let a small number of family members (the "helpers") know who is buying what, so they can coordinate. The person receiving the gift never sees who claimed what from their own list.
- To recognise Selena, Matt and Tristan when they sign in so they can edit their own lists.
Where it's kept
Everything is stored in a Google Sheet in Selena's own Google Drive, and helper notifications are sent by email from her Google account. The website itself is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Your browser keeps your sign-in in local storage so you stay signed in. We don't use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies.
Sharing
We never sell or share your information with anyone outside the family, and we don't use it for anything except this registry.
Removing your information
You can undo your own claims at any time from the registry. If you'd like your details removed entirely, just ask Selena, Matt or Tristan and we'll delete them.
